Domus - water harvesting

I am looking into water harvesting for my weekend job and have discovered this article which i think is very interesting.
It's about a beetle which lives in Namib Desert and has a water collecting system on its shell, which UK scientists are attempting to mimic.

The bumps on it's back are smooth and attract water during morning fog whilst the troughs and slopes of the bumps are covered in wax to repel water. Gradually the water builds up until it forms a droplet heavy enough to run down a chanel to it's mouth.

what a great little story. in a lecture given at the start of the year at Deakin, the bloke that designed the CH2 building in melbourne described how he took his inspiration from termite mounds. they are complete little ecosystems.
